Sounds great, doesn't it?
But what if you're just feeling tired? Tired of juggling the long days, the late nights, the irregular hours, or constantly searching for a new gig?
You probably just want to finish work and crash, so much so that taking care of yourself feels like yet another obligation, rest comes with guilt baked into the heart of it.
And you can't even begin to think about life-work balance!
If you don't work the traditional Monday to Friday, nine to five job, creating habits and routines feels almost impossible. If your work patterns are always shifting, it can be difficult to prioritise you and your own wellbeing.
Maybe you're an experience-maker - an events professional managing back-to-back events, a hospitality or healthcare worker who can't remember the last time you had a whole weekend off, or someone working outside of the classic Monday to Friday, nine to five. When you don't have traditional routines and patterns of rest around your work, and you're exhausted, it becomes incredibly difficult to prioritize time for yourself, your friends and your family.
Even though you know it's essential.
So here you are, cuppa in hand, shattered, knowing you want more rest, and less guilt and burnout. You're not sure what to do next, and where to turn for help, and you've found your way here.
Hello! Grab a cuppa, pull up a chair, sit down and put your aching feet up (or in a soak). Take a moment to just stop. Close your eyes for a moment: if you fall asleep, I'll still be here...
I know how you're feeling: tired, tired, and more tired, with a dash of guilt, and really sore feet.
Here's where I can help you.
I'm Jo Gibney, a London-based burnout and rest coach who works online and in-person. I work with events professionals, hospitality workers, and anyone whose irregular schedule makes traditional rest and self-care feel impossible.
As a coach who works part-time in beer, events and event security (and has previously worked in hospitality and retail), I understand the challenges of working long, late and weekend shifts, the guilt of missing out on time with family and friends, and impact of living on coffee and snacks (and I LOVE coffee) during the sillier seasons.
That doesn't mean I can give you answers to getting more rest and putting yourself first. Rather by working together we can start to figure out the right blend of life and work for you. One that will mean you feel more rested, and less guilty about missing the things that bring you joy in life. And your work.
By working together you could gain clarity about what you really, really want from life. You could start to understand what is holding you back from having this now, and take steps to create a life-work balance that you have crafted. We'll also look at how what you think and believe about rest and work might be getting in the way of you doing this, and how you can start to let go of this.
And if you're thinking coaching feels like too much right now (because who has time when you're working weekends and evenings?), I have a menu of options.
You can choose from PAYG (pay as you go) face-to-face coaching (typically online), a package of sessions to take over a period of time, or a day of coaching over Voxer (voicenotes and text-based). Coach in Your Pocket - my Voxer coaching - fits around your current responsibilities, is low pressure from time, but still challenging. It offers is extra time to think and reflect, and you can do it from anywhere you can get the internet.
Constantly putting yourself last doesn't have to continue into the rest of your life.
Working with me can help you reclaim your life, put yourself first, feel more rested, and avoid a big burnout - even if your work schedule doesn't look like everyone else's!
If you'd like to find out more, and see if we're a good fit, book in a 30 minute call, and let's have a low-key chat about whether I'm the right coach for you.
